Welcome to High Street

Richie and the High Street Rockers are a vintage Rock n' Roll band based out of Pottstown, PA. Playing both originals and covers from the 1950s and early 1960s, they are passionately reinventing the sound of rock's roots for the 21st century. Buckle up for hot renditions of classics by Little Richard, Elvis, and Eddie Cochran, then lean back for soft ballads by Dion, Buddy Holly, and the Everly Brothers. With their signature, snappy outfits and overflowing energy, you're guaranteed to be twisting the night away!

The name "High Street Rockers" is taken from the main thoroughfare in Pottstown, PA, where founding member Richard "Richie" Thomas spent many years at the Ballroom on High developing a love for vintage dance. He wanted a name that harkened back to an era where Saturday night was best spent downtown with friends, cruising slow with the windows down until you reached your favorite venue or soda fountain.

The sound of the Rockers is completed by the low-frequency talents of John Pachnos (bass/vocals) and the rhythmic stylings of Austin Bright (drums/vocals). Together they aim to put a new and energetic spin on the authentic rock and roll sound that changed the world.

Since coming together, the group has had many fantastic adventures. They've spent their evenings playing swing dances, car shows, school sock hops, theatre shows and more. In the fall of 2024 they recorded their debut album "Welcome to High Street" at the famous Sun Studios in Memphis (now available for purchase!). They look forward to performing at venues booked across the United States.

As the group continues to evolve, High Street Rockers still have one goal: to spread joy through music and dancing. Their mission is to reconnect with this timeless human spirit and get people out of their phones and on to the dance floor. In an era where togetherness is scarce, High Street is reviving Rock n’ Roll’s in-your-face community building.
